gorge

Monday was our marathon Columbia River Gorge day. My Aunt Susan led my sister Mel, my nephew Sumner, and I on adventure into the Gorge, stopping for stunning views from Cape Horn and then a climb to the top of Beacon Rock. From there, it was on into Bingen (and White Salmon), Washington, where she, my Dad, and my Aunt Peggy grew up. We toured around to see the various houses they had grown up in along with some other sights and people in the little town that seemed to only be a few blocks long. Afterward, we trekked into Portland for dinner at my Aunt Peggy's along with my cousin Mark and his family. Thanks to social media, the connections don't seem as distant as they did years ago, but there's still nothing like time together in person.
