safety first

The only stairways we can use in Rockefeller Center are between our floor and the commissary. It's such a contrast the beautiful public spaces of the building that I get a kick out of it. The greenish stripe outlining every stair, wall, and banister is glow-in-the-dark safety tape. And without meaning to make fun of it - cause its a smart idea (and like the calorie count on the signs at Coney Island, for all I know it could be a law here) - but it's so meticulous and thorough, that I have to admit I'm amused by it. I'm dying to see what it looks like with the lights out, but I couldn't find a switch!
